For many years in the United States the only tokusatsu available for purchases were "Godzilla" moves on VHS tape. Altough "Ultraman" had been shown on American television and severa other henshhin heroes had been shown in Hawaii and California they were not available for purchase to watch at home, not licensed from legitmate sources anyway. Its only since early 2000s that companies in the US have started to release henshin heroes on licensed DVDs and more recently Blu-ray. I've listed companies which I am aware of that have released various henshin heroes from Ultraman to Super Sentai in the US, unless otherwise noted they are Japanese with English subtitles. I've also included the martial arts action series "Fight! Dragon" and the series about ninja "Shadow Warriors" as well as the Chinese super hero "Inframan". The list is in alphabetical order by company and then chronological order by year the series originally aired in Japan.

Most of these series are from Tsuburaya Productions or Toei Company, Ltd. Sadly not one Toho henshin hero series has been released in the US although Rainbowman and Diamond Eye were aired on television in Hawaii in the 1970s. Apparently Toho does not belive there is an audience for their products other than Godzilla (real name Gojira). None of P-Productions' series have been released in US either. A movie parody of "Denjin Zaboga" is available on DVD.

The first tokusatsu DVDs I ever purchased were the JN Productions box sets of the first henshin heroes I ever saw, in Hawaii (in the 1970s), Kikaida, Kikaida-01, Kamen Rider V3 and Inazuman. They added the reboot Kikaida movie later. italicized titles are ones I have purchased or plan to in the case of future releases.

Heisei Era or Heisei Period (January 8, 1989 - April 30, 2019)

Their demise put an end to the planned release of all Shadow Warrior series (1-6). As far as I can tell Mill Creek Enteraintment has not rereleased Shadow Warriors 1. I have the BCI set. Planned To Be Released:

Mill Creek Entertainment has licensed every available Ultra series from Tsuburaya Productions and plans to release every series They begain with Ultra Q, Ultraman, Ultraman Orb and Ultraman Geed. Seems they plan to release two Showa Era series followed by two Heisei era series every few months instead of in chronological order. Due to the rights to them not currently being held by Tsuburaya Productions but by others, Ultraman: Towards The Future (Ultraman Great) and Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero (Ultraman Powered) are NOT included in the deal. Mill Creek's DVDs and Blu-rays can be found on Amazon. If pre-ordered Amazon will not actually charge you until they ship and will charge the lowest price available during the time you pre-ordered. Mill Creek Entertainment also has the Ultraman series for sale for online viewing at Movie Spree, their online video service.

Mill Creek Entertainment has not at this time licensed Tsuburaya Productions other series (Jumborg Ace, Fireman, Triple Fighter, Emergency Directive 10-4-10-10) so there are no current plans for their release in the USA.
