Kikaida: Summary of episode 2

2. Bizarre Green Mantis Is A Killer

Three Dark androids in a helicopter spot Jiro on his motorcycle. Ordered to destroy "Kikaida" by Professor Gill, the androids open fire on Jiro. After dodging several explosions Jiro pretends to crash and fall of his motorcycle. The androids land and exit their helicopter. Jiro fights them, destroying one, but another appears to take it's place. After beating up on the androids Jiro shouts "Are you going to leave all the fighting to the androids?" A bolder splits in two as Green Mantis appears. Green Mantis slashes a tree and knocks over another bolder. Jiro changes into Kikaida and drives away on Sidemachine.

Jiro

Jiro takes food to Mitsuko and Masaru who are hiding in what looks like an old barn. Jiro tells Mitsuko that she and Masaru need someplace better to hide. Mistuko suggests the home of her father's friend Professor Ichigami. Jiro says he'll meet them their after he's defeated the Dark.

Meanwhile, Green Mantis approaches the lab of Professor Ichigami, as Professor Gill's flute plays. Inside the lab the professor is atempting to assemble a robot. The wind blows the door open. Dr Komyoji appears in the doorway. Professor Ichigami is happy to see his friend who has been missing for five years. The professors happiness changes to terror when the doctor reveals himself to be Green Mantis in disguise. The monster kills the professor. The professor's wife enters the lab, to find the body of her busband. Looking out a window she sees Dr Komyoji who tells her he killed her husband. The phony doctor rides away in a car driven by Dark androids.

The androids car narrowly avoids a head on colusions with another car. The driver of the other car dresses like Sherlock Holmes. He notes the license plate number of the android's car, 99-99. The man's name is Hattori Hanpei, he claims to be a descendant of Hattori Hanzo, the Iga Ninga, and fancies himself a master detective. He's actually a greedy coward.

When Mitsuko and Masaru arrive at the Ichigami home the professors widow tells them their father murdered her husband and orders them to leave. Before they can go they are taken into custody by three police officers, two in uniform one in plain clothes.

Hattori Hanpei comes on the scene and notices that the police car has the same license number as the car that almost ran into him. When he questions the police officers about it they try to ignore him. He pulls on the arm of an officer, it comes off in his hand, then a second arm appears in the sleeve. The uniformed officers reveal themselves as Dark androids, the plain clothes officer is Green Mantis. Mitsuko and Masaru attempt to escape. Masaru makes it but Mitsuko does not. Androids run after Masaru.

Five androids grab Masaru but before they can carry him off Jiro appears, playing his guitar. Jiro defeats the androids. Masaru tells Jiro the Dark has his sister.

Mitsuko asks Green Mantis why he framed her father for murder. Green Mantis tells her to tie the doctor to the Dark forever, and that Doctor Komyoji will continue to murder people. A radio message from Dark headquarters warns that Komyoji's android has been spotted. An android says someone is following them. Mitsuko assumes it is Jiro, but it is just Hattori Hanpei who wants the damage to his car payed for. Suddenly Jiro's motorcycle passes Hanpei's car. Jiro flips two twitches on his belt. Then jumps from his motorcycle to the top of the police car. Jiro's motorcycle, with Masaru in the sidecar, drives itself. The police car swerves, Jiro holds on. Green Mantis tries to pull Jiro off the car. Fails. Professor Gill plays his flute. Jiro falls off the car. Green Mantis tells the android driving to run over Jiro. The car seems to hit Jiro, but the sound of the egine must have blocked out the sound of the flute because Kikaida lifts up the car. Hanpei watches from a distance, astonished at what he sees. Kikaida rockets away with Mitsuko in his arm.

Jiro gently lays Mitsuko down on a beach. Mistuko tells Jiro the Dark is planning frame her father for more murders. When Jiro asks who might be next Mitsuko suggests Mr. Izaki, her father's assistant.

As Professor Gill's flute plays Green Mantis climbs the hill behind the home of Mr. Izaki. Doctor Komyoji enters the home of Mr. Izaki, pulls a green blanket off a couch. He surprised to find not Mr. Izaki but Kikaida. Doctor Komyoji claims he's glad to see Kikaida, but Kikaida says "shut up you fake". A beem come out of Kikaida'a eyes. Doctor Komyoji has the shadow of Green Mantis! After a briend battle inside the house Kikaida and Green Mantis move outdoors.

Kikaida beats up on several androids before using "Double Chop" and "Giant Swing Throw" on Green Mantis. Mistuko asks Professor Ichigami's widow if she believes her now, that her father is not the murder. She does. Green Mantis tries to strangle Kikaida but Kikaida chops his arm off. A chain sprouts from the arm socket. Green Mantis attempts to capture Kikaida with the chain but Kikaida breaks it. And destroys Green Mantis with "Electromagnetic End" (Denji Endo).

Jiro rides off leaving Mitsuko and Masaru behind.

"Jiro has defeated the second monster, but there are many battles to come. Go Jiro, Kikaida! Fight until the last monster is destroyed."
