Kikaida: Summary of episode 3

3. The Cursed Orange Ant's Challenge Of Death

As Professor Gill plays his flute Orange Ant comes up out of the ground and heads for a lighthouse. The couple that operates the lighthouse are asleep. The sound Orange Ant makes wakes the wife, she wakes her husband. The husband (played by Yamaguchi, Akira; Yuki, Joji/Riderman in Kamen Rider V3 & Daimon Yutaka in Denjin Zaboga) gets up to investigate. He finds Orange Ant. The monster sprays acid on the walls of the lighthouse. The lighthouse operator tries to stop Orange Ant and is killed with acid. With his dying breath he yells for his wife, Tokie, to run. The lighthouse colapses.

Wearing a diving suit, Jiro cathes fish for Mitsuko and Masaru. Masaru offers Jiro some fish, before he remembers that Jiro doesn't eat. Jiro opens his chest to replace an energy capsule. Mistuko gets up to dry Jiro's back. Masaru after complaining that Jiro gets special treatment, turns away, facing the ocean. He cries out when he sees a woman's body drapped on a rock. Jiro goes to the woman, discovering that she's lives. The woman, Tokie, tells how her husband was killed by a monster. Jiro recognizing the work of the Dark drives off on his motorcycle.

Orange Ant

Orange Ant and several androids capture a bunch of people for use as subjects for Dark's experiments. One man tries to run away. Orange Ant sprays acid on the man's back, killing him. A woman starts calling for her son, Yota. Orange Ant sends androids inside a building (some sort of recreation center). A boy is hiding inside. As is Hattori Hanpei who pretends to be a mannequin, until he sneezes, giving himself away. Hanpei tries to hid under a table, where the boy is hiding. The androids drag Hanpei and the boy outside. Guitar music is hear as Jiro appears ontop of a building. Jiro jumps down and fights the androids, throwing one into a pool. As the android tries to climb out of the water Hanpei spits water at it, it falls back in. Jiro throws two more androdis into the pool. The boy tells Jiro the other people have been taken to the beach and asks Jiro to save his mother. Jiro mounts his motorcycle but before he can start the engine, Professor Gill starts to play his flute. Jiro cries out in pain. Hanpei tries to help Jiro, but Jiro knocks him down. Hanpei hits his head and is knocked out. Jiro drives off, still struggling against the sound of the flut. He stops his motorcycle. Orange Ant standing at the top of some stairs brags about his power then jumps down to attack Jiro, but Professor Gill is no longer playing his flute. Jiro jumps away and..."Change, switch on, one, two, three"...transforms into Kikaida.

Kikaida dodges Orange Ant's acid spray then knocks the monster down. Orange Ant gets up, Kikaida hits him and tosses him down again and proceeds to hit him. Orange Ant kicks Kikaida off him, and sprays acid. Kikaida is hit in the left shoulder, but even damaged is still able to sever Orange Ant's left arm with "Double Chop". Orange Ant runs away. Kikaida colapses.

Jiro is on the floor of a beachhouse, Mitsuko sits beside him with tools. Apparently she has already repaired the damage, because when Masaru asks if she has to open Jiro up, she says he has one incomplete circuit that she must finish (his conscience circuit). Masaru turns away not wanting to see the inside this robot that seems so human. Mitsuko lifts up Jiro's shirt and pulls back the aritifical skin but before she can open Jiro any further Jiro grabs her hand saying he's satistified with the way he is. Jiro leaves the house. Mitsuko follows pleading to be allowed to complete the conscience circuit, saying that Dr. Komyojo would want her too. When Jiro ask why, she tell him that she and Masaru had an older brother, Taro, a fireman killed by the Dark. Jiro was made to take his place. Jiro means "second son". As sad guitar music plays in the background, Jiro responds, "I have related to you as man, just an ordinary human man... but I have a motor for a heart... a computer for a mind... I don't want you to see that." Jiro walks off, sits by the water and strums his guitar.

Jiro is riding his motorcycle. He stops too look at splots of a purple liquid on the ground. He recognizes it as coming from Orange Ant. Jiro gets back on his motorcycle and...tells Masaru he can stop hiding. A blanket is slides off the sidecar. Masaru sits up, and tells Jiro he wanted to cheer him up. Jiro says that Masaru is really hoping Orange Ant will lead him to his father, Masaru admits it. Jiro can't send Masaru back alone so he reluctantly keeps the boy with him.

Jiro stops his motorcycle at the entrance to woods. Masaru follows Jiro into the woods. Masaru is starlted by birds taking off. Jiro tells him to watch out for Orange Ant, then calls for Orange Ant to come out. Laughter is heard. The voice of Orange Ant is heard, saying that Jiro has walked into his trape. Jiro grabs Masaru just in time to save the boy from a spray of acid. Orange Ant comes up out of the ground. Androids carrying spray guns filled with acid run into the woods. Jiro and Masaru dodge more acid. Jiro tells Masaru to run. Masaru trips, hurting his ankle. Jiro changes into Kikaida, knocks the androids about, grabs Masaru and rockets away to Sidemachine. Masaru in the sidecar, Kikaida drives away.

In a building by the water Kikaida puts a splint on Masaru's leg. Orange Ant and the androids find the building. Androids approach the door, but are knocked into the water by Kikaida. Orange Ant says he will smoke them out, but is suprised when a smoke bomb lands at his feet. In the building Masaru hears someone on the foor. Assuming its androids Kikaida jumps up...Hanpei falls into the room saying he is there to rescue them. Kikaida asks Hanpei to look after Masaru, Hanpei says he will, but it will cost a lot. Orange Ant's smoke bomb falls into the room.

Now outside, Kikaida battles with androids. Hero and villains do a lot of jumping and rolling I'm not going to attempt to descripe--you need to see this great scenes for yourself. After the androids are defeated Orange Ant appears. After more jumping, Orange Ant burrows into the ground. Kikaida jumps to the spot Orange Ant started at and punches the ground, but the monster has moved. Orange Ant comes up behind Kikaida. Three spike appear on Orange Ants right "arm". Orange Ants firs a spike at Kikaida, hitting him in the leg. The other two miss, hitting the ground and exploding. Three more spikes miss Kikaida, hitting the ground and exploding. Kikaida jumps into the air when he lands Orange Ant is gone. The monster comes up from onder ground, throwing himself at Kikaida. Punches are thrown. Kikaida knocks Orange Ant down with "Double Jump", then picks him up for "Giant Swing Throw". The Dark Destruction Corps monster is still realing when Kikaida hits Orange Ant with "Electromagnetic End" (Denji Endo).

The boy, Yota, is reuinited with his mother, all the prisoners of the Dark freed. Jiro drives off, but with Mitsuko and Masaru in the side car. Hanpei runs up, also wanting a ride, but nobody notices.

"Orange Ant has been defeated by Kikaida. Where is Dr. Komyoji? When will they find happiness? Jiro faces many more battles..."
