Kamen Rider 2. In this episode it was stated that Hongo, Takeshi/Kamen Rider had left Japan to fight Shocker in Europe. Hongo would later return to Japan and Rider 2 would then leave, returning at the end of the series to help Rider 1 finish off Gel-Shocker.
In October of 1971 Fujioka Hiroshi returned to filming, making "guest" appearances in episodes 40, 41, 49, 51 and 52. In episode 40 Kamen Rider 1 fights Snowman in Switzerland then follows the mutant to Japan. At the end of episode 41 Hongo, Takeshi heads to Africa. In episode 49 Hongo, Takeshi/Kamen Rider 1 once again returns to Japan to help Kamen Rider 2, but appears to leave at the end. He's back for episode 51. At the end of episode 52 Kamen Rider 2 leaves Japan. Fujioka, Hiroshi once again becomes the star of Kamen Rider in episode 53 and remains in the series to the end (episode 98). In the movie Kamen Rider Vs. Shocker Hongo, Takeshi gains the ability to transform by saying "Henshin" he no longer has to ride his motorcycle fast to get the wind to turn his Typhoon belt. In episode 53 of the tv series he transforms to his new Kamen Rider form by saying "Rider Henshin".
Kamen Rider I: While battling Lizardman he realized his fighting limits and changed his Cyclone bike into a new Cyclone and his body into a newly structured one. He left Japan in the hands of Kamen Rider II, departed on a trip abroad for new experimentation on his body, and appeared again to fight against Jaguar-man, with his newly attained powerful body.
-- from an article in the Star-Bulletin & Advertiser, 1970 something.
Sometime between episodes 52 and 53 Hongo, Takeshi allows himself to be recaptured by Shocker and operated on to increase his strength. He escapes (again) before Shocker scientists can alter his brain.
Kamen
Rider 1 can now jump up to 25 meters (82 feet).
Kamen Rider 1 confronts two (out of three) Shocker officers, Doctor Death (Shinigami Hakase), and Hell Ambassador (Jigoku Taishi). In episode 77 Shocker is defeated only to be replaced by Gel-Shocker. Gel-Shocker has one officer, Black Shogun. The Monsters in Kamen Rider are based on animals, arachnids, insects and plants. There was a group of evil Shocker Riders (episodes 92-94). The leader of this group looked like the new Kamen Rider 1 except he wore yellow boots, yellow gloves and and a yellow scarf.
Hongo, Takeshi eventually moved to the state of Arizona in the United States of America, where he built a Kamen Rider training center. Kamen Rider 1 is considered the leader of the Kamen Riders.
